We regret to have to tell you that the Parish Church of St. Catherine's Meath Street, was set on fire by a deranged arsonist recently. St. Cathrine's parish is administered by Augustinians from nearby John's Lane and for the length of time needed to restore it, all their functions will be transferred to John's Lane. It had only been fully restored a few years ago... but was seriously damaged in this fire. It would immediately appear that the basic structure is sound and that restoration would take several million euro.
